Our Unconventional Love Story!
Peyton and I first met on Upward, when I swiped right on him thinking that he was way too out of my league, and he said the same about me when we matched. We talked for a while on and off after matching, but nothing came from it. I had a dream about 2 months later in which God came to me and told me that He was going to send a man into my life, and I woke up trying to think if I had eaten anything crazy before going to sleep the night before because there was no possible way that was a real dream. About a week later, after a rejection from asking a different boy to my sorority semi-formal, I asked Peyton on a whim during our first FaceTime call. Much to my relief, he said yes. I thought that the timing was very interesting with that, considering my dream the week prior, so I decided to start praying about what God meant by that dream, and if that dream was even really from Him. I prayed and prayed and prayed for another two months leading up to my semi-formal, and the night before my semi, as I was praying, I had reached a breaking point. I was so anxious about the next day how awkward it would be with this boy I had never even met in real life, and how I still didn’t have an answer from God. I was so anxious and stressed, and I reached out to the Lord in prayer and asked Him, “God, if this dream was really from you and it was about Peyton, please just bring peace over me.” And immediately, a wave of peace just washed over me. That next day, Peyton was a little awkward because he was so nervous, but I didn’t care. We had the best time, and a month later on December 18, Peyton asked me to officially be his girlfriend! This year on May 10, 2024, he asked me to be his wife, and we’re getting married May 24, 2025! Upward really does work, and we are so thankful for how the Lord used this app to bring us together!
