1. Pray for Guidance

The first step is to seek wisdom and understanding from God. James 1:5 tells us, “​​If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” It's essential to pray for guidance, clarity, and peace about the decision you're about to make.

2. Reflect on Your Reasons

Before initiating a breakup, take time to reflect on your reasons. Is it because you feel you're incompatible, or perhaps you're not in the same place regarding spiritual growth? Are there unhealthy patterns that have formed over time? Whatever the reason, it's crucial to be clear about why you believe ending the relationship is the best course of action.

3. Choose the Right Time and Place

Choosing the right time and place to break up is crucial. Having a private, quiet space to talk face-to-face without interruptions would be best. Avoid breaking up during significant events, such as birthdays or holidays, as this could add unnecessary pain.

Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Trust that He will guide you through this difficult time and lead you to better things.
