Another Upward Testimony:
told by Amanda:
Trent and I met on a Christian dating app called FTH. I truly don't think we ever would have crossed paths if it wasn't for that app and God's timing. Trent lived an hour and 40 minutes away from one another in Wisconsin. We were instantly intrigued by one another's profiles, and we matched with one another. Trent reached out to me over the messenger in the app and we started to make small talk. A couple of brief exchanges happened and then nothing...... I thought Trent "ghosted" me! About a week or two goes by, and I receive this random message from Trent. I could sense his sincerity when he told me that he completely missed the last message I sent, and he thought that I, in fact, was the one to "ghost" him. In an effort to redeem himself, he asked to take me out on a date. Well, I decided to give him another shot, thank goodness I did. We met for the first time in person on June 26th, 2020. After about a month of dating and getting to know each other more, he asked me to be his girlfriend on July 21st, 2020! We fell for each other fast!! I was head over heels for Trent, his huge heart and the way he pursued the lord. I loved seeing him interact with his siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends! Every moment with Trent allowed me to see a different side of him, which made me fall harder and harder. I knew very early on that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I think Trent did too! Around Thanksgiving, I started to pick up subtle clues that made me think Trent may propose before Christmas. I also had high hopes that this would happen! Trent tried to lead me down a trail where I would be surprised by the engagement, and in doing so, I thought maybe he wasn't going to propose at all, but I kept my thoughts to myself. Then Trent cracked! He spilled his plans to spend the rest of his life with me the week after Thanksgiving and we talked for hours about our hopes and dreams with one another! The surprise wasn't over though because even though I know a proposal would happen, I was unaware of when...... Trent likes to lead me down trails for the ultimate surprise! Trent proposed on December 13th, 2020. I was completely caught off guard because I didn't know he even had a ring or talked to my dad yet! He pulled off the big surprise!! We couldn't wait to be married and started planning for our wedding right away. In the midst of a global pandemic we met and fell in love. 2020 has been a rough year for so many including myself, but Trent and I would both say that it has been the best years of our lives. We have learned to rely on God more than ever before and that we have no control over the circumstances in this life, but we serve a God who does! God so perfectly placed this amazing man into my life and I am so in awe of His goodness and faithfulness in answering the prayers I have had for my future husband.
